Getting started with DREscout
Everything you need, in five minutes
Log in, pick your cities or ZIPs, tell DREscout who to email, press Send Now to confirm it works. From then on it runs on its own, every Monday morning.
What is DREscout?
DREscout pulls every newly-licensed real-estate salesperson and every newly-registered exam candidate straight from the California Department of Real Estate, filters them to the cities and ZIP codes your office cares about, and emails you a polished list every Monday at 6:30 AM Pacific.
You'll get a printable PDF sheet of mailing labels and a spreadsheet of contacts, ready for your recruiting or prospecting workflow. No more manually chasing the DRE site.
Logging in
Your first email from DREscout came from noreply@drescout.io with a Set Password button. Clicking it takes you to a page where you pick your own password. After that, sign in any time at drescout.io/login.
Opening your office
Click Offices in the navigation. You'll see a card for each office you own, with the latest week's counts and two buttons: Manage and Send Now. Click Manage on the office you want to set up.
Cities and ZIP codes
This is the most important setting. DREscout will only send you examinees and licensees whose mailing address matches these filters.
Choose the filter type
- City Names — best when your service area maps cleanly to whole cities (e.g., Roseville, Rocklin, Lincoln).
- ZIP Codes — best when your area is a slice of a city or spans multiple small areas (e.g., parts of Sacramento).
Pick whichever matches how your team thinks about territory. You can change the type at any time.
Add your cities (or ZIPs)
- Start typing in the search box — a list of cities or ZIPs that actually appear in recent DRE data will suggest themselves.
- Click a suggestion to add it as a tag. Tags appear as little pills above the search box.
- Click the × on a tag to remove it.
- Add as many as you want — there's no cap. Spelling must match the DRE's spelling (which is why we suggest from real data rather than free text).
Brokers
By default, DREscout only sends newly licensed salespeople — the freshest, most recruitable audience. Flip the Include Brokers toggle if you also want new brokers included in the weekly email.
Recipients
These two fields control who actually gets the Monday email.
- Contact Emails — the primary recipients. Type one or more email addresses, separated by commas. These are the people the email is addressed to.
- CC Emails — optional. Anyone you'd like to copy — team leaders, assistants, yourself on a backup account.
Click Save Office at the bottom of the Manage modal. Your changes are live immediately.
Send Now
Back on the Offices page, click Send Now on your office card. DREscout will take the most recent DRE data, filter it by your cities/ZIPs, and email your recipients within a few seconds.
Check the contact inbox. If the email arrived, you're done. The next regular send lands on Monday at 6:30 AM Pacific.

What happens on Monday mornings
Every Monday at 6:30 AM Pacific, DREscout sends you one email with two attachments:
- A mailing-label PDF — pre-formatted to Avery 5160 so you can print and stick.
- A CSV spreadsheet — the same contacts, opened in Excel or Google Sheets for mail merges and CRM imports.
The email comes from noreply@drescout.io. If you don't see it, check spam and mark it as not-spam so your mail provider remembers for next week.
Frequently asked questions
Can I add someone who shouldn't see every office?
No — DREscout isn't a full multi-user tool. Each login is owned by one person (or shared by a small team). If you need a teammate to see the list too, add them as a CC email on your office. They'll receive the weekly email, they just won't have a login.
My territory changed — do I need to resend old emails?
No. Your updates only affect the next weekly email. Old emails are already delivered. If you want a fresh list with your new filters right away, press Send Now.
Do you track who I contact?
No. DREscout hands you the list. What you do with it is between you and your CRM.
Why doesn't my city appear in the suggestion list?
It means nobody in that city has appeared in a recent DRE file. Add it anyway — we'll pick it up the moment somebody does.
I forgot my password.
On the sign-in page, click Forgot password?, enter your email, and a reset link will arrive from noreply@drescout.io within a minute. The link takes you to a page where you pick a new password. If it doesn't arrive, check spam.
Can I see older weeks?
Not in the app. Once the email is delivered to your inbox, it's yours to keep. Search your mail.
